Why Confession Isn't Doing It's Job

Most of us grew up thinking confession meant saying sorry and repentance meant being really sorry. Somehow a change meant "sorry enough" to never do it again. But what if that's not what either of those words actually mean? Confession is actually telling the truth. And repentance (metanoia in the Greek) is a change of direction, not a deeper apology. This episode walks through a recent and very personal example: venting to the right crowd about an unfair situation, feeling vindicated in the moment, and then knowing immediately something was wrong. The real confession wasn't "I spoke poorly of someone." It was the deeper truth buried underneath that revealed what I'm afraid of: God, I don't actually trust you to handle this. That's where things got real, and where the freedom came from.If confession has ever felt like duty without relief, this one might reframe everything. From the author of The Jael Finishing School for Ladies: Etiquette for Dangerous Women.Available on Amazon:https://a.co/d/0ivCFcq5

This is a public episode. 10 Years Underground: When Faithfulness Feels Unseen

Some journeys don’t show fruit for years. A decade into endurance racing with my horse Khaleesi, something unexpected happened at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville — a top five finish and the high vet award, on the 10th anniversary of her entering this sport. Not because we were the fastest or the most naturally gifted, but because we stayed the course the right way for a long time. And it felt less like a trophy and more like a note from Jesus saying: yes, you’re on the right track.

This episode is for anyone who is toiling in the unseen. Wondering if what you’re doing matters. Wondering if the roots are actually taking hold beneath ground that still looks dark. Whether it’s a prodigal child, a broken relationship, a calling that hasn’t produced visible results yet, or years of work that feels like it’s going nowhere — this conversation is for you. The things we do in the name of Christ should bear fruit in the real world. And I believe they will.

You may not see it all now. But there will be fruit in the land of the living. Keep walking.

From the author of The Jael Finishing School for Ladies: Etiquette for Dangerous Women.

Available on Amazon:

https://a.co/d/0ivCFcq5

This is a public episode. True Peace in Freedom

Are you still searching for peace?

What if it came through letting go of the last pieces you’re not even aware you carry?

What if even the faith to believe isn’t yours to muster? We say “Jesus did it all” — but most of us quietly believe he did 99.5% of it and our job is to believe hard enough to get through the door. This episode sits with an uncomfortable question: if even a tiny sliver of this is on us, then we can boast about that sliver. And maybe more importantly — what happens to our daily life when we think there’s still a part we have to carry? Spring overwhelm, an empty hay barn, and a slow realization that the finished work might actually mean finished — no asterisks, no pending action items. Come dig into the questions with me.

From author of The Jael Finishing School for Ladies: Etiquette for Dangerous Women.

Available on Amazon:

https://a.co/d/0ivCFcq5

This is a public episode.
