[…] And so You know, our daily breath is a book for everyone and for me in my season of life. And often I find myself borrowing the breath prayer in the trenches of my children. I have two kids with chronic illness and, you know, writing the book, I was in and out of the hospital, emergency rooms. But I turn to it a lot, even when I'm just about to bubble over with frustration and I need to take a breath. We say that all the time, take a breath. But what about if we prayed alongside it? And to me, it feels like a way to pray without ceasing. It feels very merciful to my own self. That instead of waiting for the perfect time, the perfect words, even the perfect emotion— Breath is inherent to my day. […]
