[…] And, and I, and I, I came of age in the sport, so I ran my first ultra in the late 80s, early 90s, actually. 1994, it was a multi-loop road ultra in Philadelphia. I ran several 50Ks in the mid-90s and my first 100 mile in 2000, and so I kind of came of age in the era that is definitely a bygone era now of when you knew everybody at the starting line, when you could sign up the day before the race, when you had syrup bottles strapped to your hands, when you, when there were no such things as trail shoes, all the, you know, all the, all the, all the stories that you've, you've heard are true. And, and in the, In those days, the thing I loved the most about it and the thing that I miss the most is that the way in which knowledge and wisdom was passed along was almost ancient and tribal, right?
