Aspecto importante sobre o comportamento da onda é a sua frequência. Imagine um carro de corrida que precisa completar 25 voltas em uma pista circular. Imagine o cenário em que o carro A completa as 25 voltas em 2 horas e o carro B completa o percurso em 1:30. É possível entender que o carro B passou por um determinado ponto bem mais rápido que o carro A.
