Socialista Champagne | How to Exploit the Cracks in Empire

In episode 82 of Global Majority for Peace, Ileana Chan speaks with Isabella Aidar (Socialista Champagne), a Brazilian‑Canadian activist, political educator, and UX designer for Tech for Palestine. Radicalized by Occupy Wall Street in 2011, Isabella traces her journey from journalism student to anti‑imperialist, scientific communist.

They discuss why anti‑imperialism must be the primary struggle for any serious movement, how the CIA co‑opted Marxism through conflation and co‑optation, and why the Global South holds more leverage than ever before. Isabella breaks down the different strategies for the Global South (technology transfers, state ownership, local production) versus the Global North (mutual aid, political education, combating the labor aristocracy). She also reflects on the trap of electoral politics, the importance of disciplined organizing spaces, and why the US empire is inevitably going down swinging.

For more from Isabella: https://linktr.ee/socialistachampagne

Follow Ileana Chan: Instagram/X/TikTok: @ileanacforpeace

One-time donation to support our work:

https://buymeacoffee.com/empirewatch

https://gofund.me/2cd9de43

Subscribe and Follow Empire Watch:

YouTube: @EmpireWatch

Instagram: @EmpireWatchMedia

TikTok: @EmpireWatchMedia

X: @EmpireWatchX

AUDIO released EVERY WEDNESDAY on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/EmpireWatch

And:

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/01HI3K6vwdCRAXq5wWWbxb?si=00016b473043452a

Amazon Music: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/89a4df87-bcbf-4610-880e-3cf768303c76/global-majority-for-peace

The Global Majority for Peace podcast brings you in‑depth interviews every TUESDAY to discuss our mission to challenge US imperialism and build a multipolar world.

Hosted on Acast. Rufaro George Kanjere | How We Prepare for What Comes After US Imperialism

In episode 81 of Global Majority for Peace, Ileana Chan sits down with George Kanjere, community and union organizer and member of the Red Anti-Imperialist Collective in Australia. Born in Zimbabwe and raised between there and Australia, George traces his journey from the Australian Greens to Marxism-Leninism, radicalized by Aboriginal deaths in custody and the reality of third world conditions inside one of the wealthiest countries on Earth.

They discuss what it means to build a revolutionary movement in the imperial core, why anti-imperialist views without domestic power are just "academic vibes," and how organizers must meet people where they are, not demand they come "pre-cleansed" of conservative ideas. George breaks down the Red Anti-Imperialist Collective's strategy: prioritizing First Nations liberation, organizing in women-dominated sectors like education and healthcare, and exposing how Australia's economy is owned by BlackRock and Vanguard. He also reflects on the long transition from capitalism to socialism, the importance of internal party culture to prevent abuse, and why women's liberation is an existential question, not identity politics, for any serious revolutionary movement.

For more about Red Anti-Imperialist Collective

https://linktr.ee/redant.australia

Website: https://redantcollective.org/

Email: contact@redantcollective.org

Instagram: @redantaus @redantmelb @redant_perth @redantsydney

Follow Ileana Chan:

Instagram/X/TikTok: @ileanacforpeace

One-time donation to support our work:

https://buymeacoffee.com/empirewatch

https://gofund.me/2cd9de43

Subscribe and Follow Empire Watch:

YouTube: @EmpireWatch I

nstagram: @EmpireWatchMedia

TikTok: @EmpireWatchMedia

X: @EmpireWatchX

The Global Majority for Peace podcast brings you in‑depth interviews every TUESDAY in video and WEDNESDAY in audio to discuss our mission to challenge US imperialism and build a multipolar world.

Hosted on Acast. Michael Dutton | Why the West Gets Everything Wrong About China

In episode 80 of Global Majority for Peace, Ileana Chan is joined by Professor Michael Dutton, political theorist and China specialist, to explore how China’s revolutionary project reshaped political subjectivity, state power, and everyday life and why Western frameworks fail to grasp it. Formerly a Reader in Chinese Politics and Social Theory at the University of Melbourne and later Professor of Politics at Goldsmiths, University of London, Michael is the author of influential works including Policing and Punishment in China, Streetlife China, Policing Chinese Politics, and most recently The Book of Politics: China in Theory (2024).

He traces the formation of his political worldview and examines the central question animating his latest work: what conditions transform people from capitalists into socialists? Drawing from decades of research, he breaks down the methodologies, policies, and psychological shifts that shaped China’s political transformation from Mao’s adaptation of Marxism to the evolution of Communism with Chinese characteristics.

Get Michael's Books here:

https://www.dukeupress.edu/the-book-of-politics

https://www.dukeupress.edu/policing-chinese-politics

Follow Ileana Chan:

Instagram/X/TikTok: @ileanacforpeace

One-time donation to support our work:

https://buymeacoffee.com/empirewatch

https://gofund.me/2cd9de43

Subscribe and Follow Empire Watch:

YouTube: @EmpireWatch I

nstagram: @EmpireWatchMedia

TikTok: @EmpireWatchMedia

X: @EmpireWatchX

The Global Majority for Peace podcast brings you in‑depth interviews every TUESDAY in video and WEDNESDAY in audio to discuss our mission to challenge US imperialism and build a multipolar world.

Hosted on Acast.
