Trudy Scheele-Gertsen wordt in 1968 moeder. Ze is ongehuwd, en wil haar kindje houden. Maar zónder dat ze het weet, wordt ze uit de voogdij gezet. Puur en alleen omdat ze niet getrouwd is. Meer dan 13.000 ongehuwde meisjes en vrouwen werden tussen 1956 en 1984 gedwongen hun kind af te staan. Trudy klaagde er de Nederlandse Staat voor aan. Daarmee werd ze, ongewild, hét gezicht van de zogenoemde ‘afstandsmoeders’. ‘Je vóelt je belazerd, maar je bént ook belazerd. Ik kon gewoon niet anders dan dit aan de grote klok hangen’. Lukt het haar, en de andere vrouwen om jaren later nog hun recht te halen?

#7 - Advocaat Stef Nuijen over de juridische strijd rond lelieteelt (S02)
Wat doe je als je je zorgen maakt om je gezondheid vanwege het gebruik van bestrijdingsmiddelen in je buurt? Er zijn aanwijzingen dat pesticiden leiden tot ziektes als Parkinson, ALS en Alzheimer. Bij geen enkel ander gewas worden zo veel bestrijdingsmiddelen gebruikt als bij het telen van lelies en leliebollen. Lelieteelt leidt daarom steeds vaker tot een hevige strijd. In de rechtszaal én daarbuiten. Advocaat Stef Nuijen staat bezorgde omwonenden bij. ‘Het eerste wat ik zeg tegen mensen die mij bellen: hou er wel rekening mee, de buurtbarbecue wordt niet meer leuk.’

De Rotterdamse Miryam Mejhed heeft door langdurig trauma een chronische posttraumatische stressstoornis. Ze heeft last van herbelevingen en straatangst. Haar psycholoog adviseert haar een hulphond, om haar te ondersteunen in haar dagelijks leven. Maar als Miryam de gemeente vraagt om de opleiding van de hond vanuit de Wmo te betalen, krijgt ze nul op het rekest. Keer op keer wordt haar aanvraag afgewezen. En ze is niet de enige Rotterdammer die weerstand ondervindt bij de aanvraag van een hulphond voor psychische problemen. Lukt het Miryam wel bij de rechter?
