And the Noble Eightfold Path includes a bunch of things about right speech, right action, right meditation, right concentration, I never remember all eight of the folds, but one of the folds is right livelihood. And right livelihood is not spelled out as in, here are the things, here are 16 jobs that are right livelihood. The only thing you get is a negative, and this comes from the Vanija Sutta, which must be one of the Pali canon sutras, the early Buddhist sutras. And the Buddha there is said to have said, a lay follower, a lay Buddhist, should not engage in five types of business, namely business in weapons, business in human beings, which would be the slave trade, because everybody back then was doing the slave trade pretty much, business in meat, there you go, business in intoxicants, and business in poison.
