[…] So we know that oestrogen is a very significant factor. The fall in oestrogen can trigger migraine attacks, but also high levels of oestrogen have been associated, especially with migraine with aura. So is that something that we should be guiding people about through those reproductive years? So I think absolutely with migraine and this applies to any trigger. I'm not sure I like the word trigger, but any trigger for migraine, it's the change that seems to be the key. It's moving from one environment into another environment. So the menstrual attacks, it's moving from high oestrogen or relatively high oestrogen levels over a few days into a relatively low oestrogen environment. […]
