[…] And those could be things like trauma. They could be things like having lots of peers who are using substances and encouraging you to use substances. And so it's always this combination of genetics plus environment that influences whether or not someone actively is experiencing an illness. And everybody is going to have their own unique combination. Right. You might have lower genetic risk. but experience a lot of environmental traumas or risk factors. And that can lead to someone experiencing a substance use disorder. On the other hand, if you have a lot of genetic risk, the families that you were talking about that, you know, we encounter so frequently, then it doesn't take as many environmental risk factors before someone is experiencing problems.
