Extra maatregelen azc Ter Apel: 'Dat grasveld is symbool van hoe asielketen vastzit'
Asielminister Bart van den Brink heeft extra maatregelen aangekondigd voor het aanmeldcentrum in Ter Apel. Het azc zit namelijk vol, waardoor asielzoekers overdag buiten op het grasveld bij het pand blijven. En dat heeft tot bepaalde incidenten geleid, zoals vechtpartijen, intimidatie en twee steekpartijen. Of de extra maatregelen van Van den Brink, zoals preventief fouilleren en dat asielzoekers niet meer op het grasveld mogen verblijven, wat uithalen, is nog maar de vraag. "Het blijft vaag", vindt Wilma Haan, adjunct-hoofdredacteur van NOS Nieuws. "Misschien is het voor de korte termijn een oplossing, maar is er structureel nog geen begin van een oplossing." Schrijver Haroon Ali zag in Van den Brink "een soort uitsmijter zonder overwicht" die een onderscheid probeert te maken tussen "goede en overlast gevende" asielzoekers. "Dat grasveld is een symbool van hoe de asielketen vastzit", meent Haan.

Erling Haaland is een uniek figuur
Hoewel Noorwegen is uitgeschakeld op het WK, is de Noor Erling Haaland dé man van dit WK. In de eerste plaats omdat hij goed kan voetballen, maar ook op sociale media is hij razend populair. "Kijk, Ronaldo is arrogant, maar Haaland heeft een enorm sympathieke uitstraling", aldus Paul Römer. Roos Schlikker noemt zijn expressieve hoofd en zijn formaat, maar ook de verrassende kanten die hij op sociale media laat zien. Ook het feit dat hij een beetje de draak met zichzelf steekt, werkt aanstekelijk. "Misschien is het een lul, maar ik wil het niet weten."

Uitzonderlijk en een beetje verwarrend
Een journalist van het AD deed een paar maanden geleden een opvallende vondst. Hij vond namelijk een mes dat het moordwapen bleek te zijn in de zaak van een 59-jarige vrouw die door geweld om het leven was gebracht. Zoiets is 'heel bijzonder', zegt Niki van der Naald, adjunct-hoofdredacteur van de Gelderlander maar journalistiek ook wel 'een beetje verwarrend', aldus journalist Laurens Vreekamp. Aan tafel zitten Laurens Vreekamp, Niki van der Naald en Spraakmaker Marc Slors.
