Alternatif Tarih: "Benim Distopyam Başkasının Ütopyası Olabilir mi?"
Bu bölümde, alternatif tarih üzerinden "Benim distopyam başkasının ütopyası olabilir mi?" sorusunu cevaplamaya çalıştık. Philip K. Dick’in Yüksek Şatodaki Adam, Katharine Burdekin'in Swastika Geceleri ve Mussolini'nin yazmak istediği Europa 2000 eserlerinden bahsettik. 700 yıl süren Nazi iktidarını anlatan Swastika Geceleri'nin distopyalardaki öncü niteliğinden, Yüksek Şatodaki Adam'daki Nazi Amerikası'nın neo-Nazilerce bir ütopya gibi görüldüğünden de söz ettik. Bu bölümde ütopya ve distopya kavramlarının doğuşundan ve gelişiminden bahsettik. Birlikte "Benim ütopyam başka birisinin distopyası olabilir mi?" sorusuna cevap aradık. More'un 1516'da ütopya kelimesini icat etmesinden 20. yüzyıla gittik. Oradan da MÖ 4. yüzyıla, Platon'un Devlet ve Yasalar eserlerine döndük.
