Im achten und vorläufig letzten Podcast geht es Max Böhnel und Johannes Streeck um eine Bestandsaufnahme der Midterm-Wahlen vom Dienstag. Obwohl wegen anhaltender Auszählungen in entscheidenden Swingstates die Kräfteverhältnisse im Kongress noch nicht geklärt sind, lässt sich mit Sicherheit sagen, dass eine »red wave«, die die Demokraten befürchtet und die Republikaner erhofft hatten, ausblieb. Dies aber als Anfang vom Niedergang des Rechtsextremismus zu werten, wäre fehlgegriffen. Dazu und zur Rolle von Demokraten, Progressiven und Linken kommen außerdem Dorothea Hahn (»taz«), Stefan Liebich (RLS-Fellow), Bill Fletcher Jr. (ehemaliger AFL-CIO-Bildungsbeauftragter) und Suzy Wurtz (Pennsylvania) zu Wort.
