Pastor Earl Wallace explores this intricate connection in today's episode. The Greatest Commandment, found in Mark 12:30-31, calls us to love God most and then love our neighbors. The Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 urges us to make disciples of Christ, guiding people to eternal life with God.

Pastor Earl warns about the dangers of church unity movements that encourage abandoning Bible doctrine for the sake of unity. He reminds us of Jesus' words in Matthew 7:15-20, where we are advised to recognize true followers by their fruit. True conversion and conviction in Christ are essential to prevent deceit within the church.

The episode delves into the conflict between social justice movements and biblical standards. Pastor Earl emphasizes the importance of applying biblical truth to civic life and government, as America's founding fathers intended. He draws parallels with the Protestant Reformation, which aimed to return to the basics of the Bible and apply its principles to all aspects of life.

God's perspective on true belief, as discussed in Hebrews 10:29 and 6:1-6, highlights the need for genuine repentance and trust in Christ's sacrifice. Pastor Earl cautions against appearing Christian without true salvation, as it can deceive others and hinder their path to God.

In conclusion, Pastor Earl urges listeners to stand firm on God's word, even if it leads to persecution. This steadfastness is the only hope for the world to be lifted up in liberty.

Why You Should Listen: This episode offers a compelling exploration of the delicate balance between biblical truth and church unity. Ep. 106: Rise Like Nehemiah: Prayer and Action for a Restored America

Episode Summary:

It's time to get out of our Christian comfort zones because complacency gets us nowhere. Sinfulness abounds all around us, and our freedom of conscience is under threat. Our government is turning on us, and tolerance of sin is expected from those of us who choose to walk the path of righteousness with God.

In today's culture, God is openly mocked, and Christians are labeled as haters if we refuse to bow to society’s new cultural sin mandates. But we need to stop, drop, and roll back to God in prayer. How much time do you really spend praying to God? At Liberty Christian Fellowship, God is raising up leaders who will stand in the gap—people who take God seriously and dedicate time to being in His presence and prayer.

As we witness the decline of culture, government, and society, we can pray like Nehemiah prayed in Nehemiah chapter one. Nehemiah wept, fasted, and prayed for his disgraced brethren, confessing the sins of the Israelites as well as his own. In verse 7, he said to the Lord, "We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees, and laws you gave your servant Moses."

Nehemiah didn't blame others or have a pity party. Instead, he went straight to the Lord in prayer. There are many Nehemiahs out there—tired, disgusted, frustrated, and heartbroken. But as I said, complacency gets us nowhere. When was the last time you fasted for the sins of this country? When was the last time you wept for our nation? When was the last time you prayed earnestly for our country? Together, let's commit to faithfully obeying God and praying daily.

We are called to be doers of God's word. James 1:22 says, "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." Nehemiah humbled himself before God, praised Him, acknowledged His glory and majesty, confessed his sins and the sins of others, and depended entirely on God. He fasted and prayed for a long time. First Thessalonians 5:17 urges us to "pray without ceasing." Continuous prayer should not be seen as a chore, but rather as a heartfelt commitment.

Let us prepare our hearts so the Spirit of God will move us to pray throughout the day and every day for a restored America and restored families. Pray that God will give us the strength to do the great things He wants His disciples to do, and watch the many blessings He has in store for His Nehemiahs. We welcome you to our church each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. to hear the line-by-line Bible sermons by Pastor Earl Wallace, who often reminds us to stop, drop, and roll back to God. Please pray for us so we can use God's favor to open doors for teaching in public schools.

Why You Should Listen:

This episode is a powerful call to action for Christians to rise from complacency and actively engage in prayer and fasting for our nation. Anne's message emphasizes the importance of continuous prayer and living as doers of God’s word, inspired by the example of Nehemiah.

By listening to this episode, you'll be encouraged to deepen your commitment to God, embrace your role in His plan, and be part of a movement that seeks to restore America through the power of prayer and faithful action.
