Fall asleep as we explore the funny (and rather boring) history of Manners.
It starts a million years ago with early humans picking their teeth with sticks around a fire, runs through an Egyptian vizier who wrote the first book on office politics, a Roman emperor who nearly legalized passing wind at dinner, a French queen who couldn't put on her own vest because of rank, and a man laughed at in 1610 for owning a fork — and somewhere in between people stopped answering the phone. How did two million years of civilization take us from "whatever you do at the fire is fine" to "reply-all means I will never speak to you again"?
