[…] It is a sad story, though, because... It was based on my dog Beatrice and she lived to be about 15 years old and she was a big black Newfoundland and she would always be with me. She followed me around the house. She was my baby before I had babies. She would always be in the press room with me watching me print all day. And she was your shadow. She was truly my shadow. And she We used to call her that playfully, but after she passed, I knew in our line we needed a card that represented all the people who had pets that were their shadows. And so Liz came up with this beautiful imagery and I came up with the text for it and it just worked. […]
