I've been thinking about it all this time lately.

考えていたのは、このポッドキャストを新しくしたいって思っていたんです。

What I was thinking about was that I wanted to make this podcast new.

ぼくは今もう一つのプロジェクトをしています。

I am doing another project right now.

ユニマルジャパンっていう日本語を勉強する人のコミュニティを作るプロジェクトです。

It's a project to create a community for people studying Japanese called Unimaru Japan.

このプロジェクトはまあまあ大変なんですね。

This project is quite tough.

うんとても大きいプロジェクトなんです。

Yes, it's a very big project.

今ユニマルジャパンを作るためにいろいろなことをじゅんびしています。

Right now, I'm preparing various things to create Unimaru Japan.

動画を作ったり、プラットフォームを作ったり、そしてコミュニティに入りたい人を見つけたり、いろいろじゅんびをしてるんですね。

I'm making various preparations like creating videos, building a platform, and finding people who want to join the community.

そしてこのポッドキャストのことも考えていました。

And I was also thinking about this podcast.

このポッドキャストは簡単でシンプルな日本語で話しています。

This podcast is spoken in easy and simple Japanese.

だから日本語の勉強を始めた人はとてもいいポッドキャストだと思います。

So, I think it's a very good podcast for people who have just started studying Japanese.

でももっといいポッドキャストにしたいんですね。

But I want to make it an even better podcast.

今はぼくの話したことを文字おこししています。

Right now, I am transcribing what I spoke.

文字おこしっていうのは英語で transcritのことですね。

Transcription means "transcript" in English.

でも、この文字おこしに漢字がたくさんあるんですね。

But, there are a lot of kanji in this transcript.

うんだから漢字って難しいですよね。

Yes, so kanji is difficult, isn't it?

特に日本語の勉強を始めたばかりの人にとって漢字は本当に大変だと思うんです。

I think kanji is really tough, especially for people who have just started studying Japanese.

だから、ぼくはプラットフォームを使って、もっといい方法があるかもしれないって思っていたんですね。

So, I was thinking that by using a platform, there might be a better way.

例えば、まあひらがなだけとか漢字とひらがなとか、漢字の上にふりがながあるとか、いろいろな文字おこしの仕方を考えていました。

For example, I was thinking of various ways to transcribe, like using only hiragana, mixing kanji and hiragana, or putting furigana on top of kanji.

そして、ぼくがこのポッドキャストで使っている文法とか言葉もリストアップしたいなって思ったんですね。

And I also thought that I want to list up the grammar and words I use in this podcast.

だからこのポッドキャストを聞いた人は、リスニングの勉強にもなるし、リーディングの勉強にもなるし、新しい言葉の勉強とか、文法の勉強とかになると思ったんですよ。

So, I thought that for people who listen to this podcast, it would serve as listening practice, reading practice, and a way to study new words and grammar.

うんそしてビデオポッドキャストとか他の人と会話しているポッドキャストもいいと思っているんですよね。うん。

Yes, and I also think video podcasts or podcasts where I converse with other people would be good too. Yes.

そして今ぼくたちのコミュニティはモニタープログラムが終わったんです。

And now, our community has finished its monitor program.

だから、そのコミュニティの中の人にもっと日本語が勉強できるコンテンツを作りたいなって思っているんですね。うんそうだからうんもっと。

So, I'm thinking that I want to create content where people inside that community can study Japanese more. Yes, that's why, yes, more...

みんなの勉強を助けられるようなポッドキャストにしたいって思っているんですよ。

I'm thinking that I want to make it a podcast that can help everyone with their studies.

それをずっと考えていたから、先週は 2回しかアップできませんでした。うん、そうですね。

Because I was thinking about that the whole time, I could only upload twice last week. Yes, that's right.

でも新しいプロジェクトとか、ぼくたちのコミュニティのこととか、このポッドキャストのこととか、本当に楽しみなんですね。

But I am really looking forward to the new project, things about our community, and things about this podcast.

…If you’d like to catch the full version, sign up for my website…

It is time for the Japanese Life Daily podcast.

このポッドキャストは日本の毎日を簡単な日本語で話しているポッドキャストです。

This podcast is a podcast where I talk about Japanese daily life in simple Japanese.

このポッドキャストのホストたかしです。

I am Takashi, the host of this podcast.

オンラインで日本語を教えたり、ポッドキャストをしたりしてます。

I do things like teaching Japanese online and doing podcasts.

今、ユニマルジャパンっていう日本語を勉強する人のコミュニティを作ってます。

Right now, I am making a community for people who study Japanese called Unimaru Japan.

7月にオープンします。

It will open in July.

きょうみがある人はコメントしてください。

If you are interested, please comment.

今日は台風が来てますっていうトピックで話します。

Today, I will talk about the topic that a typhoon is coming.

そうなんです。

That's right.

大きい台風が日本に来てます。

A big typhoon is coming to Japan.

多分沖縄にはもう来ましたね。

It probably already came to Okinawa, didn't it?

うん。台風は来ますっていう動詞と使います。

Yes. We use typhoon with the verb "kimasu" (to come).

だから台風が来てますですね。

So it is "taifu ga kitemasu" (a typhoon is coming), isn't it?

うん、そうなんです。

Yes, that's right.

この台風はとても大きいみたいですね。

This typhoon seems to be very big, doesn't it?

なんか風が強くて、雨がたくさん降ってとても危ないみたいです。

It seems to be very dangerous with somewhat strong winds and a lot of rain falling.

ぼくもニュースで見てました。

I was also watching it on the news.

台風が来ますよってニュースの人が言っていたんですね。

The news person was saying that a typhoon is coming, you know.

うんでも日本の人は台風に慣れてます。

Yes, but Japanese people are used to typhoons.

だから大丈夫だと思うんですね。

So I think it will be okay, you know.

うんでもこの台風は本当に強いみたいでちょっと心配なんです。

Yes, but this typhoon seems to be really strong, so I am a little worried.

しかも明日の朝東京の近くに来るみたいなんですね。

Moreover, it seems it will come near Tokyo tomorrow morning, you know.

だからまあ仕事に行く人は本当に大変だと思います。

So, well, I think it will be really tough for people who go to work.

ぼくは最近うちで仕事してるから大丈夫なんですけど。

I am okay because I have been working at home recently, though.

ぼくの娘をほいくえんに連れて行かなくちゃいけません。

I have to take my daughter to nursery school.

だから、多分台風が来る時と娘をほいくえんに連れて行くときは同じだと思うんですね。

So, I think the time when the typhoon comes and the time when I take my daughter to nursery school will probably be the same, you know.

同じぐらいの時間だと思います。

I think it will be about the same time.

だからうんどうしようか今考えています。

So, yes, I am thinking about what to do now.

台風が過ぎたら大丈夫だと思います。

I think it will be okay once the typhoon passes.

台風が過ぎます。

The typhoon passes.

ちょっとむずかしい言葉ですね。

It is a slightly difficult word, isn't it?

台風が来て台風が違う場所に行くことを台風が過ぎるって言うんですね。

A typhoon coming and then going to a different place is what we call "taifu ga sugiru", you know.

台風が過ぎたら大丈夫だと思うんですよ。

I think it will be okay once the typhoon passes, you know.

うん。

Yes.

台風の後はいつも晴れますよね。

It always clears up after a typhoon, doesn't it?

うん。でも朝台風が来るのはちょっとうん大変ですね。

Yes. But a typhoon coming in the morning is a bit, yes, tough, isn't it?

ちょっと辛いですね。

It's a bit rough, isn't it?

みんな仕事に行くしね。

Because everyone goes to work, you know.

うんだから夜台風が来るのは大丈夫なんだけど、うん昼来るのはやっぱり少し心配ですよね。

Yes, so it's okay if a typhoon comes at night, but, yes, it's still a little worrying if it comes during the day, isn't it?

でも、子供の時は台風が来るとちょっとあのワクワクしてました。

But when I was a child, I used to be a little, well, excited when a typhoon came.

どうしてかっていうと、大きい台風が来ると時々学校が休みになるんですよ。

The reason why is because when a big typhoon comes, school is sometimes canceled, you know.

そう学校が今日は台風が危ないから休みですって言うんですね。

That's right, the school says that because the typhoon is dangerous today, school is closed, you know.

だからぼくたち子供はラッキーみたいな感じでした。

So for us children, it felt like "Lucky!".

そうだから明日は学校は休みかもしれません。

That's right, so school might be closed tomorrow.

でもほいくえんは休みかな休みじゃないかなうんちょっとわかりませんね。

But I wonder if the nursery school will be closed or not closed, yes, I don't really know.

うん。まあ、明日は台風が来て危ないと思います。

Yes. Well, I think it will be dangerous with the typhoon coming tomorrow.

だからうちでのんびりしたいと思います。

So I want to relax at home.

娘もほいくえんに行かないかもしれません。

My daughter might not go to nursery school either.

…If you’d like to catch the full version, sign up for my website…
