God promised Abraham descendants, blessing, and a land for his people. He also gave Abraham’s household a physical sign of their covenant. Pastor Alex Dean traces that sign through Scripture and asks what covenant means for followers of Jesus today.
Drawing especially from Genesis 17 and Romans 2, Alex points to the change of heart produced by God’s Spirit. He invites listeners to move beyond outward acts, examine what may need to be cut away, and respond to the Lord with ongoing surrender and obedience.

Session 15 - 10.14.26
What did it mean in the Old Testament for someone’s name to be blotted out—and how does that physical record point toward a greater spiritual reality in Christ?
Pastor Monte Dean continues the discussion of salvation and the Book of Life by examining the Old Testament meaning of being “blotted out.” He explains how the Old Testament frequently uses physical people, events, and objects to reveal spiritual truths ultimately fulfilled in Christ—from sacrifices and the tabernacle to Israel’s battles against its enemies. Through examples including Korah’s rebellion and the placement of Israel’s tribes around the tabernacle, he emphasizes the importance of reading Scripture in its historical and cultural context.
The study then considers the Old Testament “book of the living” as a physical record of those belonging to Israel’s covenant community. Pastor Monte explains that being erased from this record concerned a person’s place among the covenant people and the possible loss of an inheritance, rather than necessarily describing the loss of eternal salvation. The discussion concludes by introducing the distinction between Israel as God’s covenant people and the Church as the Bride of Christ, setting the stage for a closer comparison between the Old Testament record and the New Testament Book of Life.
Scripture references include Psalm 51:1, 9; Psalm 84; Psalm 103:12; Psalm 139:16; Isaiah 43:25; Isaiah 44:22; Numbers 16; Exodus 32:32–33; Ephesians 6:12; Acts 3:19; Colossians 2:14; Genesis 17; Exodus 4:24–26; Ruth 4; Revelation 5:1–10; and Mark 12:41–44.

Why Do You Call Me Lord? - 10.04.26
In Luke 6:46, Jesus asks why people call Him “Lord” but do not do what He says. Pastor Monte Dean takes that question seriously, asking whether Jesus has authority over our choices, opinions, and the parts of Scripture we find difficult to accept.
This message explores the purpose of God’s correction and the difference between hearing His Word and obeying it. Pastor Monte’s challenge is personal: Will we let Scripture change us, surrender our preferences, and follow Jesus as Lord?
