<p style="color:#333333;font-weight:normal;font-size:16px;line-height:30px;font-family:Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;hyphens:auto;text-align:justify;" data-flag="normal">当晚，八连在夜袭中就发现了美军已经由韩军来替换这一情况，随即向团部报告。由于韩军战斗力和战斗意志远不及美军，志愿军并没把他们放在眼里。不料韩第二师以东方人的思维和创造，对坑道的破坏比美军更毒辣。他们用迫击炮吊射坑道口；用毒气弹、硫磺弹熏；用巨石块堵洞口；用铁丝网缠绕成团堵塞通气口；从坑道顶部凿眼装药爆破；……美军忙了五天，一筹莫展，而韩二师才一天就将二号坑道炸塌了近30米，坑道里的四连被倒塌的土石压死2人，压伤6人。一号坑道的两个洞口也被炸塌，只剩下碗口大小的透气孔，八连伤亡了37人才将洞口重新掏开。四十五师立即将四门75毫米山炮前推，专门轰击破坏坑道口的敌人。 </p><span><br></span><p style="color:#333333;font-weight:normal;font-size:16px;line-height:30px;font-family:Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;hyphens:auto;text-align:justify;" data-flag="normal">敌军的破坏还不是坑道部队最大的威胁，缺粮断水才是最严重的。美军对坑道部队与后方的交通线实行严密的炮火封锁，使得坑道部队粮尽水绝。火线运输员付出几条生命的代价，送进坑道一袋压缩饼干，但干燥至极的口腔和食道，根本无法吞咽，饥渴成为最大的敌人。</p><span><br></span><p style="color:#333333;font-weight:normal;font-size:16px;line-height:30px;font-family:Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;hyphens:auto;text-align:justify;" data-flag="normal">在整个战役期间，火线运输员的伤亡率高达90%，甚至超过了坑道部队的伤亡率。通往上甘岭两个高地的山路上，洒满了火线运输员的鲜血，大量的物资也因此损失在路上，送进坑道的微乎其微。由于饮水难以运输，只要容器中弹，就极易流失，所以，主要运送的是既能解渴又能充饥的萝卜。 </p><span><br></span><p style="color:#333333;font-weight:normal;font-size:16px;line-height:30px;font-family:Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;hyphens:auto;text-align:justify;" data-flag="normal">一直到第九天，也就是1952年10月28日夜，运输连指导员宋德兴和两个火线运输员才冲过了炮火封锁，将三袋萝卜和一些慰问品送进了一号坑道，那个夜晚简直就是八连最盛大的节日。但萝卜上火，多吃心里难受，所以坑道部队建议送苹果。于是，十五军连夜从后方紧急采购了三万多公斤苹果，派人送往坑道，以示对坑道部队的关心。但美军炮火封锁实在太猛，大筐苹果难以送上去，没有一筐苹果送进坑道，最后送进一号坑道的只有一只苹果！于是，<span><a target="_blank" style="color:#4990E2;text-decoration:none;"><span>《一个苹果》</span></a></span>的动人故事就在坑道里产生了。 </p><span><br></span><p style="color:#333333;font-weight:normal;font-size:16px;line-height:30px;font-family:Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;hyphens:auto;text-align:justify;" data-flag="normal">坑道里最受煎熬的要数那些无法转入高地的伤员了，坑道里连一滴酒精、一卷绷带都没有，伤员只好任凭伤口发炎糜烂，全靠坚强的意志和自身的体质支撑着。而且为了不影响战友的情绪，伤员都自觉强忍疼痛，一声不吭，很多伤员都用嘴紧咬着床单，有的至死嘴里的床单都没法拿下来！ </p><br>
