And Sarn is no better, accommodating as it does a guy-linered zealot, a boy band leader and more lava than a 1960s lamp retailer. Chuck in a reappearance from the Doctor's psychotic old school chum and we have a great big melting pot that's well worth avoiding. Why wasn't K9 replaced with an electronic whale? Can Nicola Bryant avoid a skyclad Teuton? Did JNT enjoy his holiday at the licence payers' expense? There they find a distressed Susan-alike, her grumpy companion and the sinister Koquillion, who is spiky both in physiognomy and personality. Can our intrepid travellers discover Bennett's secret? Will Babs murder any more of Vicki's pets? How will the Doctor survive without having the word "Grandfather" shrieked into his face on a regular basis? […] It's a quaint reel-to-reel, which doesn't seem to have any tape in it, but I may have that wrong. In the future, you don't need tape. You just need the reels. The mini rocket launcher then shoots this tape recorder high into orbit, where it transmits the message on a special frequency. There are listening posts all over the galaxy, so it means that the Earth Authority's Should get the message if they can get it up there into orbit. Corey says all they have to do is stay alive until the rescue team gets there. That turns out to be not as easy as you might think. Just then there's a loud noise overhead and they look up to see an enormous rocket ship coming into land elsewhere on the planet. […]
