The Louisiana Equine Council (LEC) is a non-profit organization that exists to serve the entire horse industry of Louisiana: All Breeds, All Disciplines. The Board of Directors recognized that many members of the La Equine Community don't know what the LEC does to help them and how involved we are in statewide and legislative matters affecting us all. The LEC Board of Directors has decided to use the podcast format to better educate and communicate with the La Equine Community as a whole. This podcast will mostly be an interview format bringing in relevant and influential figures to answer questions and explain issues. Hopefully, through more understanding of our industry and how we are all affected by certain policies, you can help us to keep our La Equine Industry strong and growing.

Ep. 17 Sen. Heather Cloud

Sen. Heather Cloud first got into politics to become the mayor of Turkey Creek, after a massive fraud and embezzlement case in that town caused her to see the need for good, solid, and competent leadership from the private sector. Ep. 16 Cajun Cowboy Rescue, Stephanie Williams

We sure like to bring y'all human/horse interest stories about wonderful things going on in Louisiana involving horses. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes disasters to bring about the best aspects of our Louisiana Livestock Community. Beauregard and Vernon parishes have been recently devistated by wildfires from the severe drought southwestern Louisiana has been having. The entire community of Merryville was evacuated, including many animals. As we've seen before, everyday citizens can do amazing things in those times of need and the group called Cajun Cowboy Rescue is a prime example.
Mrs. Stephanie Williams runs Cajun Cowboy Rescue and talks with us about what has occurred, who has helped, what the joys and needs are, and more. Their Facebook page is linked below. If you feel the call to be of service to those in need, please contact them and see how you can help.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1348968265975180
