In each episode of Love Your Diagnosis, we'll interview individuals who have successfully managed their diagnosis. These stories will showcase inspiring journeys of resilience, courage, and the pursuit of health in and outside of traditional Western medicine. My goal is to educate, discuss, build a community, support, and raise awareness around alternative approaches to health and empower listeners to get back in the driver's seat of their own well-being. Through our raw and honest discussions, we aim to provide the listener with valuable knowledge, show alternative paths, plant seeds and create a space where people can share their own experiences.

<p>Barbara Legere is the author of "Keven's Choice - A Mother's Journey Through Her Son's Mental Illness, Addiction, and Suicide" and "Talk to Me, I'm Grieving - Supportive Ways to Help Someone Through Grief."</p><p>She has been featured in Prevention Magazine, Authority Magazine, Salon, andHuffington Post as an advocate for those suffering from substance usedisorders, mental health issues, and grief. Legere is an advocate for harm reduction, MAT (medically assisted treatment) and ending the stigma towards substance abuse and mental health issues.</p><p>After losing her son, Keven, to suicide, her passion has been reaching out to other grievers to offer support and understanding. <p>Sharon is a full time academic, part time comedian, terrible cricket player and a fan of big Barossa reds.&nbsp;This all means, she likes thinking, tinkering and drinking.&nbsp;What she doesn’t like is writing bios.</p><p>Our interview is based around the 23 years it took Sharon to get off Anti depressants. <p>In this episode I talk with the inspirational Kimberly Clark, a Navy veteran who used her biggest obstacles to find opportunities for empowerment and recovery. Kimberly talks about her horrific childhood and military sexual trauma experiences, her battles with addiction, and her road to recovery that made her an inspiration to those going through similar difficulties.</p><p>Because of her dedication to her own recovery, Kimberly has learned about the therapeutic benefits of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and the job of a peer support specialist, where she uses her personal experiences to help other veterans get well. Her writing and speaking engagements as a motivational speaker and author highlight her message of resiliency and the potential to overcome adversity.</p><p>Kimberly provides insights about the value of therapy—especially EMDR—as well as the ability of regularity and discipline to help people stay focused and move forward in their healing process throughout the entire episode.
