29. DER BESOFFENE INDIANER
Der besoffene Indianer, Deutsche Fassung Af Niels Peter Juel Larsen © Sprecher Frank Glaubrecht Neue und bearbeitete Version „Standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona” (Eagles) war der Titel des Songs über das Stehen an einer Straßenecke in Randers, wo ich mit Winslow/Arizona aufgewachsen bin. 1976 fuhr ich zum ersten Mal auf dem Weg nach Westen durch Winslow und wurde von einer Atmosphäre der Verlassenheit und Trostlosigkeit erfasst. Der Eindruck war so stark, dass ich zurückkehren musste zu diesem Ort am Arsch der Welt – was 1983 geschah. Solche Orte waren schon immer meine Lieblingsorte, und genau das ist es, was ich in Winslow fand, einem Niemandsort zwischen den USA und dem Navajo/Hopi-Reservat, als ich eines Nachts mit Polizeisergeant Hathaway auf Streife war und die Festnahme des Indianers Herman wegen Trunkenheit am Steuer aufnahm. Einige Tage später wurde ich unter dem Verdacht, ein verdeckter FBI-Agent zu sein, aus der Stadt ausgewiesen. Ich hatte keine Ahnung, warum, fand aber später heraus, dass mehrere Amtsträger der Stadt, darunter der Polizeichef und mehrere Kommunalpolitiker, kurz darauf wegen Korruption verhaftet und verurteilt wurden. Was aber eigentlich meine Frage nicht beantwortet: Wie landet man in Winslow/Arizona? Oder wo sonst so was gibt? Über All. P.S.
