Trevor Regan is the founder of Train Ugly and the host of the podcast channel “The Learner Lab." Overcome Your Routine For Growth In Your Health with Darien D'Orsay (S.2 Ep.2)
Darien D’Orsay is an Alberta Sheriff, Firefighter, Search and Rescue and Canadian Ski Patroller that is speaking about the overall health of first responders. He is passionate about helping others in his community and provides strategies to be successful outside of the workplace. <br />He discusses strategies for personal growth. Darien speaks about growing up with a single mother and dealing with a shift in mindset at such a young age. He discusses his past with his father and the challenges that he faced. Darien overcame procrastination and started to have an incredible growth mindset. He developed a huge level of maturity and understanding of his past. He dives into the facts you need to grow within your day-to-day lifestyle. Talks about his passion for volunteering and what he has learned. It is truly amazing. Darien has overcome a lot for his age and has been successful in making an impact on others.<br />Darien and I briefly go into the overall stigma of mental health for first responders. He explained easy tips on how to manage your routine and how to organize your personal life from the workplace. How to do a Mental Reset with Riley Compton (S.2 E1)
Riley Compton is a 1st LT logistics officer for the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 39, Marine Aircraft Group 39, and 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. She oversees the squadron's logistical movements, ground safety and physical security. And in her free time, she trains for Team USA's Bobsled Development Team as the Pilot of the sled. <br />She was raised in Carmel, Indiana and after completing high school received a softball scholarship to play D1 at George Washington University (GWU). She met a recruiter during her freshman year and fell in love with the idea of being a Marine and serving her country. She attended and graduated from Officer Candidates School in 2016. Compton played four years there and graduated with a degree in Political Science. She then continued on in her career as a Marine and has been exceeding in her role. She is an advocate for health & wellness and has an amazing story to share. <br />In this podcast, Riley Compton talks about methods on how to be successful within your overall health. She describes how to manage your health in different aspects; especially for those in the military. She discusses the methods on how to be successful. Her objective is to be at the Olympics in 2026. Riley plans to stay on active duty in the Marines for several more years and represent the Marines in her bobsled career. Speaking with her motivated me so much and it was an honour to learn the strategies that she offered to me.
