Sie fuhr Fahrrad, trug Brille und ging als fast 30-Jährige allein nach Paris: Ida Gerhardi (1862–1927) gehört zu den spannendsten Künstlerinnen, die Lüdenscheid je hatte – und kaum jemand kennt sie richtig. Navin Mani und Philipp Brinkmann erzählen, wie aus der Arzttochter aus Hagen eine Malerin der klassischen Moderne wurde, die über 20 Jahre in Paris lebte, das Nachtleben rund um den Bal Bullier auf die Leinwand brachte und mit Käthe Kollwitz durch die Tanzlokale zog. Es geht um die Restriktionen für Frauen um die Jahrhundertwende, um „stille Revolution" statt lauter Provokation, um ihr Netzwerk zwischen Paris, Berlin und dem Mäzen Karl Ernst Osthaus – und um die Frage, warum diese Frau bis heute so sehr im Schatten ihrer eigenen Geschichte steht. 2027 jährt sich ihr Todestag zum 100. Mal. Höchste Zeit, die junge Ida wiederzuentdecken.
