[…] And so TDLR determined that Gonzalez's response, remember, this is her Facebook comment to an anonymous post, and failure to identify issues regarding escalation could place pregnant clients and unborn children at risk. Based on Gonzalez's pattern of conduct and stated disregard for midwifery standards of care, as well as the Texas midwifery laws and rules, TDLR concluded that emergency action was necessary to protect the public health and safety of pregnant women. And it's completely ridiculous because they're stating that she gave the wrong advice on a Facebook post. Wait a minute. Since when do the licensing standards require that if you're just having a casual conversation, you need to be following some arbitrarily pretend made-up standard of care in your profession? […]
