<p>健康診断では異常がなかったのに、突然病気が見つかる――。</p><p>動脈硬化や心不全などの心血管疾患は、自覚症状がないまま進行することがあります。そんな病気の背景には、「血液をつくる細胞の変化」が関わっているかもしれない。</p><p>そんな研究に取り組んでいるのが、名古屋大学医学部附属病院循環器内科/高等研究院 助教の由良義充（ゆらよしみつ）さんと医学部附属病院 循環器内科 元大学院生｜現在公立東濃中部医療センター 医師の米川 淳（よねかわ じゅん）さんです。</p><p>今回、由良さんたちは、「腹部大動脈瘤」という命に関わる病気に注目しました。</p>

<p>「がんが転移する。」</p><p>この言葉はよく耳にします。その転移先のひとつが「骨」。<br>なかでも、「脊椎」に転移しやすいことが知られています。</p><p><br></p><p>今回お話を伺ったのは、脊椎に転移したがんに対する治療判断について研究を進める<a href="https://profs.provost.nagoya-u.ac.jp/html/100011903_ja.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow"><strong>伊藤 定之（いとう さだゆき）</strong></a>さん（医学部附属病院 整形外科 病院講師）です。</p><p><br></p><p><strong>「手術をするべきか、しないべきか。」</strong></p><p>伊藤さんは、このシンプルでありながら極めて難しい問いに向き合っています。</p>
