The Mahakumbh Mela is a major Hindu festival held every 12 years at four locations in India: Haridwar, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Nashik, and Ujjain. It celebrates the victory of gods over demons in the myth of the churning of the ocean, where a pot (Kumbh) containing nectar emerged. Devotees believe bathing in the sacred rivers during this event cleanses sins and ensures spiritual liberation (Moksha). The celebration involves millions of pilgrims taking holy dips, chanting mantras, and participating in rituals, with the most significant event being the "Shahi Snan" (royal bath).
