Sehen wir es einmal positiv: In den kommenden Jahren werden Tausende von Kirchenbauten frei für weitere und andere Funktionen. Doch wie genau dieser Wandel am besten vollzogen werden soll, da sind noch viele Fragen offen. Ein guter Zeitpunkt also, um einen Blick auf den Bestand, seine Entstehung und mögliche Zukunft zu werfen. Daher widmet das Dommuseum Fulda den Kirchen des Bistums seit 1946 die Sonderausstellung „Zwischen Aufbruch und Abbruch“. Aus dem Kuratorinnen-Team berichten die Architektin und Denkmalpflegerin Astrid Schlegel sowie die Kunst- und Architekturhistorikerin Verena Smit im moderneREGIONAL-Podcast über das Projekt. Bei Baukultur NRW begleitet man den Wandel (neben einer eigenen Wanderausstellung) ganz frisch mit einem Leitfaden für Kommunen, Gemeinden und Engagierte, den der Innenarchitekt und Kurator Felix Hemmers vorstellt.
