Lydia visited us on the Island this summer and read selections from <em>Rainbow Rainbow </em>in a program co-presented by and hosted at the Fishers Island Library, and we are excited to hear Lydia and Tryn dig into the gritty details of writing and publishing this powerful and intimate collection of stories. She received an MFA in Creative Nonfiction Writing from Columbia University. </h4><h4><br></h4><h4><strong>Her essays have appeared in <em>The Threepenny Review</em>, <em>Longreads</em>, <em>Hypocrite Reader,</em> <em>Words Without Borders</em>, <em>Twin Cities Daily Planet</em>, and elsewhere. She received residencies and fellowships from Vermont Studio Center, Atlantic Center for the Arts, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Sundress Academy for the Arts, Catwalk Artist Residency, Cuttyhunk Island Residency, and Lighthouse Works. </strong></h4><h4><br></h4><h4><strong>Her essays have been named Notable in The Best American Essays 2020 and awarded a Pushcart Prize Special Mention in 2021.&nbsp; In 2020, she was awarded the NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship in Nonfiction Literature. She teaches creative writing at Hunter College. </strong></h4>
