He is a IBJJF certifiedĀ  Third DegreeĀ Black Belt under 4th degree IBJJF certified Black Belt Professor Rodrigo Munduruca, and Jorge Britto. Spencer began his grappling career as an amateur wrestler in 1990. After moving to Winnipeg, he began studying the gentle art under Munduruca, who hasĀ since promoted him through each rank.</p> <p>Today Spencer is the Head Instructor at Submission Arts Academy in Barrie. With a deep family history of coaching, Spencer&#39;s love for giving back was inspired by his late Grandfather &quot;Coach&quot; Jim Fletcher who is a Hall of Fame coach in Michigan.</p>
