1986 publizierte Dr. Gretl Köfler zusammen mit dem Historiker und Verleger Michael Forcher das Buch "Die Frau in der Geschichte Tirols". Dieses Werk gilt bis heute als Pionierarbeit, da es die Rolle der Frau in der regionalen Geschichtsschreibung Tirols erstmals ins Zentrum der wissenschaftlichen und öffentlichen Aufmerksamkeit rückte. Mit einer Lesung ausgewählter Kapitel hat das Gemeindemuseum Absam an die im Herbst 2025 verstorbene Historikerin erinnert.
