S2 Ep2: Electric Strings Symphony

<div>In this episode of Music Generation Longford podcast we delve into the Music Generation Longford Electric Strings Symphony. On Friday, July 1st 2022, Students from Music Generation Longford Rock School performed popular rock songs with additional symphonic accompaniment. During a week-long workshop, Longford School of Rock students worked closely with musicians from a professional string ensemble to learn how to perform their favourite rock songs with big string arrangements. The workshop taught these young musicians how to perform alongside different genres. They learned how to arrange music and hone their ear to complementary styles in order to advance as professional performers. The week will ended with a concert in Backstage Theatre where they performed their arranged pieces, supported by classical musicians.<br> <br> In this episode, Lorcan speaks with two of the classical musicians, Liam and Mary-Jane, on how classical music can compliment popular rock songs. He also talks to fellow musicians Lucy, Nico and Harry on what they learned during this experience. The episode also includes the full audio from the concert. </div>
