Miles Davis X: What Does Cool Mean toYou?

In the final episode of Music Legends, Season Two. Miles Davis finds a youthful excitement in experimentation. He excels in using modern recording equipment and electronic instruments to make his last few iconic, genre-shifting albums. He also explores an entirely new art form via paintbrush and canvas.  A few months before Miles passed away, he told a close friend “The gods don’t punish people by not giving them what they want. The gods punish people  by giving them what they want and then not giving them time.”  Although those final years of Miles Davis's life might seem creative and peaceful, the truth is that he was in a constant race with time. Miles Davis had finally ventured out of his drug den for an interview with Julie Coryell, which leads to an unexpected turn of events. Unexpected, especially to Miles himself.  The unique combination of embarrassment, shame, and having literally run out of drugs on that night eventually led to Miles sobering up. But not before he almost drugged himself to sleep for good. When Miles begins again, he tries to start new, and lead a simple life, but new challenges emerge when he is made to face his inner demons.
