<p>You owe it to life to do what you love. Whatever you enjoy doing, that is a gift you’ve been given. It is your own unique contribution to the world. It will take you anywhere you want to go if you will take the time and effort to develop it.</p> <p>When you develop your own unique talents, you gain confidence, and a larger vision of yourself. That will have a positive influence on every part of your life.</p> <p>Decide to master something that you love. Put forth a sustained, consistent effort. Do something every day to develop your skills and knowledge in that area.</p> <p>It’s almost impossible to be successful at something that you dislike. Success requires inspiration and dedication, commitment and hard work. Can you be totally committed to something you hate to do? Probably not.</p> <p>Whatever you enjoy doing, there’s a reason for it. Your enjoyment is life’s way of motivating you to excel in an area where you have a skill and a desire to make a difference. In fact there’s a good reason to pay more attention to it... so you can create needed improvements.</p> <p>Just because your reality is great doesn’t mean you have the luxury of ignoring it. In fact, that’s a reason for working even more to keep the good things going.</p> <p>The world is never any particular way just because you want it to be. Instead of pretending or wishing for the situation to be different, go to work on the situation that exists.</p> <p>Yes, by all means imagine how the world can be more to your liking. Then put forth the effort to bring about what you imagine.</p> <p>Allow yourself to be upset by negative reality, permit yourself to be comforted by positive reality. But don’t let yourself become ignorant or complacent about the reality of the world you live in.</p> <p>Recognize and live appropriately with the good, the bad, and the in between. And there’s no better way to encourage people to do their best, than to let them know you appreciate what they’re doing.</p> <p>Beyond showing appreciation for other people, it’s important to cultivate a general attitude of thankfulness and gratitude. Stop and think about all the good things in your life and be thankful for them. </p> <p>Too often we focus on our problems and shortcomings, and that only gives them that much more control over our lives. Being thankful for the positive things in our lives helps us to focus on possibilities for improvement.</p> <p>Think of someone to whom you’ve never before expressed appreciation and make it a point to let them know you’re thankful for what they’re doing and who they are. </p> <p>Make a habit of being thankful and appreciative for everything in your life. When you nurture and encourage the goodness in your life and the valuable lessons you've learned instead of dwelling on the problems, your life will be full of joy.
