What is easier?—the doorway or the ceiling—Forgiveness or healing?

Four men carried their sick friend on a stretcher to see Jesus, but the crowd blocked the doorway. Refusing to give up, they climbed onto the roof, tore it open, and lowered their friend right in front of Him.
Jesus looked up at their faith, then turned to the sick man and said, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’ The religious leaders protested, questioning His authority. Jesus asked, ‘Which is easier—to say, your sins are forgiven, or to say, Get up and walk?’
Jesus is both Saviour and Healer. Forgiveness and healing belong to Him. A miracle can come through the door—or down through the roof. With Jesus, both are possible.

I’m your host Dr Phil Keys https://philkeys.blog/

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

'Permission to be healed—Sir?’

‘Permission to be healed, Sir?
Do I have permission to be healed on Sundays—or any other day?
On the Sabbath day, a man with a deformed hand sat in the synagogue. Jesus saw him, but the religious leaders objected: ‘Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?’
Their question still echoes today: ‘Are we allowed to be healed now—or was healing only for the days of Jesus? Does Christ still heal at any time? Does He want us to suffer?’
Some religious voices suggest sickness is good for our spiritual growth.
Would a father ever say to his child, ‘It’s good for you to be sick. You will learn from this…’ Of course not. A parent will do everything possible to see their child healed; and so too it is with God.
Permission to be healed—granted. Healing is not restricted by time and place. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He can heal you now—today.

I’m your host Dr Phil Keys https://philkeys.blog/

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The persistence of a dog

A woman came to Jesus for help. He called her a dog (Matthew 15: 21-28). Why? How would you feel if you were called a dog? How would you feel if Jesus Himself called you a dog? Disgusted, angry, hurt, humiliated—those are the words that quickly come to mind. Why did Jesus use such a term? This is sexist, offensive, and even bordering on harassment. Today, He might well have been reported for such a statement. Even in that time, it was insulting and offensive. Jews and Gentiles kept their distance; Jews often referred to Gentiles as dogs. Yet in this moment, the woman refuses to be turned away. Despite the sting of rejection, she persists with remarkable determination: ‘Even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the master’s table,’ she replies. She will not let go. Jesus sees her sincerity, her humility, and her faith. He knows she believes in Him, for if she didn’t, she would have walked away. But she doesn’t. She stays and He heals her. He sees your determination too.

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
