[…] Yeah. So I think I'll start with the easy one first. If a person is coming in with lesions, I would definitely recommend swabbing any lesion that looks like it could be HSV to test for HSV, not only to differentiate whether it's herpes or something else, but also because our tests now can differentiate between HSV-1 and HSV-2 and the There can be some differences in natural history with those viruses, so it's helpful information for the patient. We typically, when we're swabbing a lesion, now we have PCR tests that are highly sensitive, also called NAT tests, nucleic acid amplification tests. These can detect a small amount of virus and are actually much better detecting virus than culture, which was more classically used in the past. […]
