<p>Als Elvis 1967 ins Studio ging, um zusätzliche Songs für das Clambake-Album aufzunehmen, konnte noch keiner wissen, dass er mit "Guitar Man" den Signature-Song für die Comeback-Ära aufnehmen würde.</p><p>Im Gegenteil: kein Album steht mehr für die Ironie der Hollywood-Ära von Elvis Presley als das "Clambake" Album.</p><p>Aus der Retrospektive betrachtet sieht das heute anders aus. Doch mit dem Session Set zu den "Guitar Man" Sessions zeigt das FTD-Label, wie zerrissen und chaotisch diese Phase in Elvis' Leben war.</p><p>Im Podcast gehe ich auch auf die Liste der Songs ein, die man für diese Sessions ins Auge gefasst aber nicht aufgenommen hatte. <p>Auf jedem zweiten Flohmarkt ist diese Schallplatte zu finden: Elvis Presley - A Portrait In Music. Wenn irgendjemand seine Plattensammlung aussortiert hat und mir seine Elvis-Platten anbietet, ist diese Platte dabei.</p><p>Aber nur selten ist es die Erstausgabe oder eine Nachpressung aus dem Anfang der 70er Jahre. Die erkennt man daran, dass sie die Platte in einem Gatefold-Cover steckt.</p><p>Warum das die Platte so besonders macht, verrate ich Dir in dieser neuen Folge. </p>
