Our goal is "to let general conference messages be the guide to our walk and talk during the next six months" by studying and applying the principles, invitations, and promised blessings taught by modern prophets, seers and revelators.
This podcast reflects our personal views, interpretations, and opinions. While we will be discussing topics from General Conference and teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this content is not an official publication of the Church and should not be taken as official doctrine or authoritative teaching.
Conference Rewind: The Correct Name of the Church | Pres. Russell M. Nelson | Oct. 2018
Why does the name of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints matter so much? Is it simply a matter of branding, or is there a deeper spiritual significance to using the Savior’s name?
In this special episode of Our Walk & Our Talk, Nathan and Morgan are joined by Brett Campbell to discuss President Russell M. Nelson’s 2018 general conference message, The Correct Name of the Church. Together, they explore why keeping Jesus Christ at the center of the Church’s name is about much more than words—it’s about keeping Him at the center of our faith, testimonies, and lives.
Through personal experiences, scriptural insights, and reflections on prophetic counsel, the conversation explores how seemingly small acts of obedience can lead to profound spiritual blessings. Brett shares how following President Nelson’s counsel helped him recognize Jesus Christ more clearly throughout the scriptures, including in unexpected places in the Old Testament.

Fear Not, I Am With Thee: Finding Christ in Our Trials | Pres. Henry B. Eyring | Oct. 2026
In this episode of Our Walk & Our Talk, Nathan Gunnell and Morgan Evans are joined by special guest Jacob Matthews to study President Henry B. Eyring’s general conference message, “Fear Not, I Am With Thee.” Together, they explore how Jesus Christ sustains us through life’s challenges, refines our spiritual nature, and invites us to become instruments in His hands to bless others.
Through personal experiences, scripture study, and insights from President Eyring’s message, they discuss why trials are essential to our spiritual growth, how we can trust that the Lord will continue to deliver us, and how serving others can bring us closer to the Savior. Jacob also shares a deeply moving experience about his brother Sam, whose faith and Christlike service remained evident even in the final days of his life.
God often meets our needs through other people—and He invites us to be those people. As we turn outward in service, we not only bless others but also become more like the Savior ourselves.

Oaks’ general conference message, “The Gospel of Jesus Christ Is for All.” Together, they explore the invitations President Oaks extends to deepen our discipleship, strengthen our testimonies, and help others come unto Christ.
