Fönsterupproret i Mönsterås den 28 september 1748
Socknens bönder hade samlats på Mönsterås gästgivargård med anledning av en ny skatt. I väntan på att länsmannen skulle komma mullrades det allt mer bland de församlade. Den där skatten var man inte alls intresserad av. Den intet ont anande länsmannen öppnade dörren och klev in.

Mönsterås var länge centrum för häradets rättsskipning. Den 4 maj 1849 genomfördes den sista avrättningen på Kuggås där drygt 7 000 människor hade samlats. Jag berättar här om mannen som fick avsluta sitt liv denna dag och som sedan grävdes ner på plats.
