[…] And my dad called me the day after and shared he wasn't really any wiser after reading the booklet today. So I tried again by speaking a little bit to his world. My dad has always been very interested in languages. So I compared ISO 2022 to the Esperanto of the financial industry, explaining that the industry had developed a common language for everyone in the financial industry to adopt in an effort to streamline financial industry communications. And I think that kind of did the trick. Now, to your question, what is ISO 2022? It is an international standard, as I mentioned, for financial messaging, essentially a common language that corporations, financial institutions, payment system operators, central banks, and many more actors in the payments industry used to exchange payments and payments-related information.
