The friendships she thought she had might be more tied to what she gave in the friendships than who she was. And when she stopped carrying and trying to hold it all together, the closeness that they once had faded. The invitations that she thought might happen never came to be. And that is a real loss not a small one and i told her what i'll tell you now you don't have to rush past grief to get to gratitude so much of our shame around hard feelings comes from believing we're supposed to arrive at peace immediately that a good faithful person would just forgive and move on and feel nothing in between but that's not how grief works and it's not how Jesus modeled it either.
