Aphasia Awareness Month with Kelly Williams and Daisy Chell
<p>June is aphasia awareness month, and in honour of this we had two amazing guests, Daisy and Kelly on our podcast. </p> <p> Aphasia is condition that is caused by damage in the brain. Aphasia can affect a person’s ability to speak, understand language and numbers, read and write.</p> <p> Kelly has aphasia and tells us her story and gives advice to professionals working with people with aphasia from her point of view. Kelly also talks about #RockingAphasia which is a way anyone can get involved in raising aphasia awareness. Daisy is a 3rd year speech and language therapy student at Birmingham City University. Daisy shares tips for students and professionals to be more aphasia friendly, as well as busting some common myths about aphasia. </p>
