S12:E1 The China Crisis: An American Pyro's Perspective
What happens in China doesn't stay in China...and the American fireworks industry could be facing some major changes.
On this episode of Pyro Talk, we're joined by "Super Dave" Oetken of J&M Displays to break down the fallout from the ongoing situation in China's fireworks industry and what it could mean for American consumers, retailers, and professional display companies.
From production volumes and factory restrictions to shipping challenges, supply chain disruptions, and potential impacts on availability and pricing, we dig into the issues that could reshape the fireworks industry.
We also discuss a massive change that surprisingly few people are talking about yet and why it deserves the attention of everyone in the industry.
Whether you're a backyard fireworks enthusiast, retailer, display operator, or industry professional, this is a conversation you won't want to miss.
The ripple effects are coming. The question is: How prepared is the American fireworks industry?

S11:Ep 17-Factory Reset: China’s Fireworks Industry After the Explosion
The fireworks industry is changing...and some of the biggest changes are happening thousands of miles away.
In this episode of Pyro Talk, we sit down with Sheryl and John, representatives from China, for an inside look at what’s happening in Chinese fireworks production following the recent factory explosion. We talk about how factories are being forced to adapt, changes to production and safety, and what all of it could mean for the global fireworks supply chain.
And for the American fireworks industry, there are MAJOR changes coming.
We dig into what U.S. importers, retailers, display companies, and fireworks enthusiasts could begin seeing as the effects of these changes make their way across the Pacific.
We also take a closer look at FireworksWorld.net, a group of Jiangxi fireworks factories working together to produce and connect fireworks with buyers around the world.
This isn't just a conversation about what's happening in China. It's about what happens next, and how it could reshape the American fireworks market.
