He received a B.A. from Connecticut College, an M.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a Ph.D. from Duke University. His research interests include Roman historiography, Latin prose, the history of classical scholarship, and the history of the humanities. <p>About Statius, the American Classical League Mentoring Program, and upcoming revisions to the Advanced Placement Latin curriculum.</p><p><br></p><p><a href="https://www.yaggyslatin.com/" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"><strong>Patrick Yaggy</strong></a>’s career in education began 25 years ago. Teaching first in Georgia and then later in Arizona, he is well-known within the Latin-teaching community for both his excellence in the classroom and his generous contributions to the profession. He has served as a Board Member of the <a href="https://cambridgelatin.org/" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"><strong>North American Cambridge Classics Project</strong></a> and as the inaugural Chair of the <a href="https://www.aclclassics.org/Mentoring" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"><strong>American Classical League Mentoring Program</strong></a>, he has authored a textbook on the <a href="https://www.bolchazy.com/The-Thebaid-of-Statius-The-Women-of-Lemnos-P3791" target="_blank" rel="ugc noopener noreferrer"><strong>Thebaid</strong></a> of Statius, he has developed resources to complement the teaching of Caesar and Vergil, and he has created hundreds of instructional videos on YouTube.
