[…] And then anthropology, which is the study of humans. So I study human fossils. Every year I travel to Africa and I dig in caves, mostly in South Africa, but also in Eastern Africa, for the remains of our ancient ancestors and also for the remains of other animals that help us understand the ecology of and the circumstances under which our ancestors evolved. And so I'm really interested in how we get to be the way we are, how we move, what we eat, how we think, and how we birth and raise our kids, and what the fossil record tells us about that evolutionary trajectory.
