It is considered Aotearoa New Zealand's first science fiction novel, and has utopian protofeminist themes.<br/><br/><br/><br/>CW for ableist language, a few instances of violence (brief and fairly non-graphic), and a poorly conceived comparison of poverty and slavery. </p>
