<p>In the panel „Gender identities and expressions from Mainland Africa across its diaspora“ at OneYard Vivendi 1.0 festival Carel discusses an afrocentric gender identity and expression with the panelists Matthew Blaise and Jeanne-Ange Wagne.</p><p>The multi-hyphenated poetess, dancer and author Ana Lucão gracefully introduces the panel.</p><p>Jeanne Ange-Wagne is a creative art historian, knowledge mediator, interpreter as well as an event host who conducts Artistic research into memory, colonial provenance research and trend cycles in art, culture and fashion.</p><p>Matthew Blaise is an award winning queer rights activist from Lagos, Nigeria. Through public speaking, community work, and political activism, Matthew Blaise has influenced a multitude of people doing his part in facilitating a more inclusive and open world. <p>In dieser Folge spricht Carel mit der Autorin  <strong>Susi Siegert</strong> über ihr Buch bald erscheinendes Buch „Gedenken Neu Denken“ und über die dringende Notwendigkeit, Erinnerungskultur in Deutschland neu zu gestalten. Wir werfen einen kritischen Blick auf den gesellschaftlichen Umgang mit der NS-Zeit und die Verantwortung, die damit einhergeht – nicht nur im Geschichtsunterricht, sondern auch im persönlichen und familiären Kontext.</p><p>Susi und Carel diskutieren darüber, warum viele Menschen – insbesondere Schwarze Menschen, People of Colour, queere Menschen und Menschen mit Behinderung – ganz andere Zugänge zur Erinnerungskultur haben, und weshalb für sie oft unverständlich ist, wie wenig die NS-Verbrechen in vielen deutschen Familien thematisiert werden. Die beiden diskutieren, weshalb das Bild vom "Widerstand der Großeltern" so verbreitet ist, welche Funktionen dieses Schweigen erfüllt – und was es bedeutet, dieser Verdrängung etwas entgegenzusetzen.</p><p>Diese Folge ist eine Einladung, genauer hinzuschauen, zuzuhören und Verantwortung zu übernehmen.
