Lay-Pastor and Elder at King's Cross Fellowship in Ft. Worth, TX
Episode 44: Pastor Lance Cashion’s Election Sermon at King’s Cross Fellowship in Ft. Worth, TX on Oct. 25, 2026
As we all know, untended fires soon burn out and become a pile of ashes. If you don’t add fuel and tend the fire, the cold and darkness will invade as the embers fade.
The untended fires of ordered freedom in America will burn out and become a pile of ashes if not fueled and kept. The results are chaos and tyranny. Darkness is the absence of light, and cold is the absence of heat. Chaos and tyranny are the absence of ordered freedom.
Ordered freedom is like a campfire. In this sermon, we turn to Matthew 22:15–21. Here Jesus answers the trap question about paying taxes to Caesar: “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
Drawing on Romans 13, 1 Peter 2, Matthew 5, and voices like Os Guinness, Francis Schaeffer, Abraham Kuyper, and C. H. Spurgeon, we work through five questions:
What is the Christian’s responsibility and obligation to the state?
What is the Christian’s responsibility and obligation to God?
What is the pastor’s responsibility and duty to his congregation?
What happens when the church fails to take responsibility and participate?
How then should we vote?
The sermon closes with three simple P’s for voting biblically: Pray, look at the Platform, and Participate by voting. It’s a call to cut the wood, stoke the embers, and pray that God brings the fire to American freedom once again.

Ep. 43 An Examination of Marxism from a Christian Worldview at TCU 10-6-26
In Episode 43, recorded live at Texas Christian University, Pastors Lance Cashion and Tyler Durham critically examine Marxism through the lens of a Christian worldview. We’ll unpack the fundamental questions every worldview seeks to answer—questions of origin, meaning, morality, identity, and destiny—and contrast the Marxist approach to these questions with the biblical narrative of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration.
As we dig into the roots and evolution of Marxism, from its origins with Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels to its influence in the modern world and its adaptation through cultural Marxism, we’ll discuss its core ideas: the power dynamic between oppressor and oppressed, the concept of envy and revolution, and the ultimate drive for an equal society. Along the way, we’ll confront the historical consequences of Marxist-inspired regimes, the philosophical differences between individualism and collectivism, and the crucial role of the church and truth-telling in today’s culture.
By the end, you'll be equipped to recognize Marxism’s narrative in contemporary issues and understand how a Christian worldview offers not just a critique but a compelling, hope-filled story that stands in sharp contrast. Join us for a challenging and thought-provoking exploration of ideology, faith, and the stories we inhabit.
