<p>In this final episode of this series, Geert Vlieger has a conversation with Rita Ouédraogo, curator of project space to be Buro Stedelijk at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Anne Mul, curator and project coordinator of Nieuwe Vide in Haarlem and Merel de Kok, Director of Galerie Bart in Amsterdam. They discuss the missions of their organisations, and give tips on how to approach these exhibition spaces. Additionally, they elaborate on what they see happening in the current art landscape and give tips on how new artists can navigate through it.</p> <p>Rita Ouédraogo is a curator, programmer, writer and researcher, and was curator and program coordinator at Framer Framed in Amsterdam. She was Research Programmer and (Community) Collaboration Officer at the Research Center for Material Culture (RCMC) of the Tropenmuseum, Museum Volkenkunde, Wereldmuseum and Afrika Museum in the Netherlands. Ouédraogo holds a MSc in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Amsterdam.</p> <p>Anne Mul is a curator, interdisciplinary researcher and activist. They holds a bachelors in Public Health: Community Health Education from Portland State University and a masters in Medical Anthropology and Sociology from the Graduate School of Social Sciences at University of Amsterdam.</p> <p>Merel de Kok is the director of Galerie Bart. She holds a BA in Cultural Studies (Minor Museum Studies) and a MA in Cultural Heritage from the University of Amsterdam. The Importance of The Mentor

<p>This fourth episode is recorded in the studio of artist Marleen Sleeuwits. Geert Vlieger meets up with her and Annebel Bruschinski, who we already know from the first episode of this series. In 2020 Annebel became Marleen’s intern, and prolonged their collaboration in 2021 by becoming her assistant. They talk about the benefits of the mentor-mentee relationship. How did Annebel approach Marleen in the first place? What did Annebel learn from Marleen when they were working together?</p> <p><a href="http://www.marleensleeuwits.nl/">Marleen Sleeuwits</a> (1980, NL) obtained her BA in 2001 from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and her MA in 2005 at AKV|St. Joost in Breda. Since then her oeuvre has been acknowledged through institutional exhibitions, public and private collection acquisitions and several awards, stipends, and nominations.</p> <p><a href="https://annebelbruschinski.com/">Annebel Bruschinski </a>(1998, NL) graduated from the HKU in Utrecht in 2021. After that she participated in several exhibitions amongst others in the group exhibition Connection at Galerie Bart.</p>
