‘ROD’S WORLD’
Rodney Castillo, better known as Rod, was born and raised in Washington Heights, New York City. He broke into the club scene in early 2014 and caught the attention of many elite venues and the hottest parties, quickly getting recognized as one of the top DJs in NYC. Focusing mostly on hip-hop, he has become known for his large selection of genres and for his transitioning skills. Rod has performed alongside ASAP Ferg, Drake, DJ Khaled, The Les Twins, and many others.
Growing up with an uncle who had a tremendous enthusiasm for music of all kinds, Rod started putting together blends with cassettes and thereby discovered his true passion for music. He was amazed by the sounds, listening to the different blends that his uncle put together. His love for music grew deeper.
Over time, Rod started a new road to his music career. After quitting his job as a waiter, he was introduced to promoting parties and from there his connections to the night life expanded. Networking with different DJs and party promoters, Rod was given the opportunity to spin for the first time. Thrilled by the experience, he traded his car for a laptop. His journey began from that moment onwards.
Connecting with the crowd through music is what Rod loves most about his craft. Generating smiles and good energy around him has made him more dedicated to music than anything has ever done!
